31 Days To Make A House A Home: Day 27: Paint!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So wow. Today has been ridiculous. Dan and Brie came down for the weekend to help us paint- and while I'll keep this brief as our router is away and I'm on my phone. But my freaking house looks amazing, thanks to Brie, Paul, and Dan. Look!

I'll update this more tomorrow with details of our paint adventures and pumpkin picking with pictures!

And here's the update:

Brie and Dan came down Friday night with the daunting task of helping us put paint on our living room.  This was daunting because we didn't do a single sample spot on our wall and I am absolutely the worst painter in the entire world, not just because of my back issues and tiny human attached to me,  but because of my inability to give proper attention to household details.  It's not my fault, it's totally in my genes.  My mom is the same way, great house, but decorated sparsely.  Brie is not this way.  Each room is painted (accent, walls, stripes, you name it), themed, and organized in a way that way that would make Martha Stuart sit back and say "this is lovely."  Not only is she a fabulous homemaker, but she's also crafty- like they should rename it brieterest.  For reals.

And then this happened:

(I found the panoramic button on my phone, how cool is this?!)

After finishing the bulk of the painting, we took a break and went to Bates Nut Farm with Casey and Jared and the kids. We utilized the conveniently placed picnic tables for dinner, and went to take pictures.  It was ridiculously crowded when we got there, but because we hit it just as it was closing, everyone was on their way out.  It worked out perfectly!

All of the cousins

He loved them!

Anthony's first pumpkin- he picked it out himself!

Love this kid

When we got home, we continued painting and when the accent wall and rest of the room was painted- minus a tiny bit of detail work Paul will finish with a brush.  I'm so excited!
