31 Days To Make A House A Home: Day 31: The End

This is it.  The final day.  The day I've been desperately looking forward to, and dreading.  I've spent the past month making little and big changes through out my house.  This has been more than organizing, decorating, and cleaning.  This has been an emotional journey.   Making this house a home means accepting that I'm here, and attaching myself to a place.  It brings up a lot of terrifying thoughts.  Now that I'm here and my pictures are on the walls and I've painted and fallen more in love with my space, what happens if a terrible act of nature takes it all away from me again?  It's scary, but it gets easier everyday.  You take the good with the bad, and there's a whole lot of good here.

Here's the thing though, it's not finished.  I still have a lot of things that need work.  I need to de-wallpaper and paint the kitchen, paint the bathroom, the hallway, our bedroom, and a few other places around the house.  I need to maintain the organization that I've already done, and spread it to the remaining cluttered places in the house.  This isn't over, in fact, it's just beginning.  I've learned that one room can go from this:

(picture pending.  my child spilled orange juice all over one of the curtains and cushion and I'm currently washing... but let me tell you it looks awesome!)

I can do this.  I can make changes.  I can achieve great things.  For those of you who have followed me this far, thank you for being here with me- through the ups, the downs, and the inbetweens.  This has been the longest month in my life, and I couldn't have done it without you.  Thank you for your kind comments and support.  I appreciate it more than you know.  For those of you just tuning, thanks for reading!

I'm really proud of myself for doing this.  I'm so grateful for my husband, Brie, Dan, family, and all others who have helped us get to this place.

Back to the regular programming, yo.
