This Weeks Cup Of Tea

I realize this post is facetious, because there hasn't been a cup of tea in quite some time.  But it's okay, because I've been putting my words in other places.  And it's paid off.

I am very pleased to announce that I have two stories being published.  The first will be part of the inagural issue of Opening Line, which will be out July 1st.  The second is for the Write On Edge anthology Precipice. I am literally over the moon right now.  I've wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember (besides a brief interlude where I wanted to be a musician) and I feel like I'm finally taking steps in the right direction.  This is the beginning of something very wonderful.

Life has been crazy awesome lately.  I had an amazing birthday in which I received a Kindle and a DS, both things I've wanted for some time but would never buy for myself because of the guilt.  I have read more books on my Kindle in the last few weeks than I read all last year, and I love it!  Also, Pokemon.  Don't judge me.

Anthony is getting so big.  He's added so many new words to his vocabulary I can hardly keep up.  It's so funny though, he picks up the sound something makes before he gets the actual name of it.  He's been making car noises for months now, and he finally said the word "car."  He has a ton of animal noises (most recently neigh, which I find interesting because he hates horses) but doesn't say horse yet.  Either way, he's fantastic.

Paul spent this past month studying very hard for his life insurance exam- which he passed on the first try!  I'm so proud of all the hard work he's put into his career.  He's so good at insurance and it's been really great for his confidence and our household.  I love seeing him working in something he enjoys.  He comes home tired and happy, which is all I can ask for.

In other news, my post for #fiveminutefriday was featured which I'm totally stoked about.  I've also been spending quality time with our goats, milking them and trying to make Cookie less of a b-word.  Anthony is also learning how to share:

Anyways, I'm still not sure on the direction I'm going with this blog.  It's been a lot of flash fiction and a lot less life stuff.  I'm trying to find a balance for all of it, but I'm not quite there yet.  I hope to figure it out eventually, but for now I'm just going to write.

On to the photo dump!

  1. Megan, your boy is so precious!!! :) I felt the same way about my blog, too. I wrote a lot of random stuff and had no real direction. I was completely ready to just delete the whole thing and give up - but then I got the Intentional Blogger book - it really changed my blogging life. You might just take a look at it and see if it might help. Have a great weekend!!!
