Blood of the Innocent

This weekend we are giving you three words and asking for you to give us back another thirty of your own, making a grand total of thirty-three words. Your words to work with are: ring water stage.

He trapped her in a ring of water.  Applause shook the stage as he bowed and reached into his coat.  “The blood of the innocent!” he shouted, drawing the knife across her throat.

Helloooo Trifecta!  It's been awhile.  I missed all of you lovely writers.  It's good to be back!

  1. The gallows box felt like a stage, with the eyes of the town peering at her beneath their tattered brimmed hats. But the rings around her wrists held the truth. "Water." she rasped.

  2. This is an interesting start but...is there supposed to be more? This is only 25 words and neither water nor ring are used.

For the record, this is all I see:

"Applause shook the stage as he bowed and reached into his coat. “The blood of the innocent!” he shouted, drawing the knife across her throat."
